WHO'S WHO IN THE MEDIA THEATRE'S 'DIARY OF ANNE FRANK': PART ONE, THE PARENTS

The Media Theatre's production of "The Diary of Anne Frank" has a strong cast directed by Jesse Cline. Anastasia Korbal, a 14 year old actress with several National Tours to her credit, portrays the role of the young Jewish girl who, along with her family, must hide from the Nazis in the attic of a warehouse in Amsterdam during WWII. The show is based on the actual writings of Anne Frank, a somewhat impetuous girl who wrote about life as it was during her family's time of exile, not as she dreamed it could be.

To allow the reality of what the play represents to come to fruition, the supporting cast surrounding Anastasia must be adept at capturing not only the time and place but also the never-ending hope that Anne will be able to live her life to its fullest extent beyond the war.
Paul Dake portrays Otto Frank in "Diary of Anne Frank" at The Media Theatre
The parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank, are vitally important to the play which runs January 29 to February 16. Cline has cast Paul Dake as Mr. Frank and Margaret DeAngelis as his wife.

Paul Dake is Otto Frank, Anne's father. Previously seen on The Media Theatre stage in the Broadway World Award winning "Mame", also directed by Cline, he has worked with The Montgomery Theater for several years, achieving its Award of Excellence. His stage credits include "Don't Talk To The Actors", "Grapes of Wrath", "Jesus Christ Superstar", and "The Drawer Boy".

With a strong passion for theatrical arts, Dake has also worked as a stage manager and director and is a singer/ songwriter. For those who watch CNN's Headline News, Dake is seen in heavy rotation as the spokesman in a nationally syndicated televisiono commercial for an insurance company.
Margaret DeAngelis is Edith Frank
Margaret DeAngelis plays Edith Frank. She makes her Media Theatre debut in the production. She has also filmed several television commercials, but maintains a love for performing on stage. Her credits include "All This And Moonlight", "The Best Man", "As You Like It", "Cheaper By The Dozen", "Lost In Yonkers", and "Our Miss Brooks".

These are just two of the actors, aside from Anastasia Korbal, who will assist Cline in bringing this legendary but always relevant play to life. This blog will have a series of articles highlighting the talented cast in this important production.
