PRIVATE PIANO LESSONS AVAILABLE WITH MEDIA THEATRE'S NEW MUSIC DIRECTOR

Scott Anthony, the new music director for Media Music Theatre Company, will be giving private piano lessons beginning in December. The lessons will be held at The Media Theatre (104 East State Street in Media). MMTC is the producing professional music theatre organization which is housed at the location, bringing such productions as “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”.

The piano lessons will adapt to each student’s capabilities, from beginner to those who wish to continue sharpening their skills. Mornings and late afternoons are available. The schedule will be determined by each student and Scott Anthony, who started his own lessons at the tender age of four.

In 2006, he received his BM in Piano Performance from Catholic University, studying with Emmy-winning artist Marilyn Neeley. He has also worked under the tutelage of Bruce Murray at the Brevard Music Festival and recently studied with Harvey Weeden closer to home at Temple University, where he received his Masters in Piano Performance. Esteemed artists such as John O’ Conor, Julian Martin and Ivo Kaltchev are a few names Anthony has had the pleasure of working with. He has also been coached in the art of harpsichord with Joyce Lindorff at Temple.

Scott Anthony is no stranger to MMTC, having been a part of its orchestra pits during the run of “Wings” as second keyboard and also enjoying the same position with its current production of the hit “Spamalot”. He moves into the position of Music Director for “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”, which plays Nov. 20-Jan. 5. He is now the orchestra pit’s guiding hand, in the hiring of musicians, conducting, and adding his dynamic to each production.
