Sometimes the actor with the shortest bio is the one who creates the biggest stir. In this case, it's because he is only five years old!
Sebastian Fitzgerald of Wallingford is quickly and quietly building a resume that busts out with recognizable show titles. "Wizard of OZ" is no exception, as he lends his talents to the legendary role of Toto, the little dog that goes with Dorothy over the rainbow.
In this youth edition of the popular story based on the classic film, Toto is not a real dog. He's a boy. And Sebastian Fitzgerald is happily barking up a storm (not the storm that takes Dorothy to OZ!) in the production which features all the familiar songs from the 1939 movie.
He attends Nether Providence Elementary Kindergarten and started performing at The Media Theatre when he was four. Yes, four years old! Just last season audiences saw this little guy in "Alice In Wonderland", "Pinkalicious", and Disney's "101 Dalmatians".
He loves acting and 'cool cars'. Will this tiny tot grow up to appear in the inevitable reboot (in the next two decades) of "Fast and Furious"? Keep your eyes on his career to find out.
For now, come see Sebastian Fitzgerald as Toto in "The Wizard of OZ" at The Media Theatre weekends October 5 to November 17. It's Saturdays at 11am and Sundays at Noon. Only 70 minutes in length, it's a musical one act perfect for ages four and up. The little ones will be well represented on stage by Mr. Fitzgerald and company!
