WHO IS IN 'OZ' AT MEDIA THEATRE? ---PART ONE---THEODORA GRECO

"The Wizard of OZ", with its legendary score and superb rendering on film in 1939, comes to The Media Theatre live on stage every weekend October 5-November 17.

With the iconic "Over the Rainbow" and classic dialogue such as "I'll get you, my pretty...and your little dog, too!" it is a show which may be enjoyed time and time again even though audiences may know every word to every song. But that's part of the fun and The Media Theatre's production, in a one-act youth edition, invites you to come and sing along.

Theodora Greco, 10, of Media portrays Dorothy in the production (except October 12 and 13, when Elaina Fitzgerald takes on the role---more about her later!). She attends Glenwood Elementary and is in the fifth grade. Aside from performing, which she adores, Theodora is also taking tennis lessons and plays the flute in her elementary school band. She likes to stay as busy as possible, so she is also a member of the Greek Dancer Group at her church. She was previously seen in The Media Theatre's production of Disney's "101 Dalmatians" and in Penncrest High School's "Notables".

She is heading into her second year as a student of The Media Theatre's New School, which is a conservatory style music theatre education program created by Artistic Director Jesse Cline. She shares the stage in "The Wizard of OZ" with other New School students who portray principle roles such as The Scarecrow, The Tin Man, The Cowardly Lion, and Glinda, The Good Witch.

Theodora looks forward to entertaining audiences and teaching a few lessons as Dorothy learns there is 'no place like home'.

"The Wizard of OZ", in which Dorothy and her pals travel the Yellow Brick Road to find answers to life's questions, plays at The Media Theatre Saturdays at 11am and Sundays at Noon October 5 to November 17. The production is 70 minutes long and is a great treat (at the price of a movie) for ages 4 and up.
